The Health and Safety Executive undertook an inspection of basement projects in March

The Health and Safety Executive undertook an inspection of basement projects in RBKC and Hammersmith and Fulham in which 127 sites were inspected and enforcement action was taken on 62 sites.
5 of London Basement’s projects were visited and received positive feedback – a clear sign of the  approach London Basement has to health and safety in what can be challenging conditions.

Health & Safety Presentation – February 2014

Following on from our January post, on the 28th February we were pleased to welcome three representatives of the Health & Safety Executive to our offices, where, at their request, we gave a presentation of our Health & Safety systems on site, with particular reference to temporary works.  We then took them on a tour of some of our projects so that they could see our systems in practice.

The feedback was extremely positive and our visitors were thoroughly impressed with our site set ups and safety systems and hopefully they will start to make some of our practices the standard  amongst all basement construction specialists.

London Basement on German TV

Not only are we in the news in the UK, our MD,  has now appeared on German TV, discussing the huge popularity of basement construction in London, where they showed some of the videos from our web site of works in progress and completed projects.  You would have to be a German speaker though to understand the interview as Stephen’s voice has been dubbed!

London Basement are often approached by various journalists looking for background information on the basement market in London as it is seen as a fascinating way of adding space to a property although does sometimes result in negative stories where non-specialists have carried out projects.

London Basement are pleased to have helped The Telegraph and CNN with recent articles, which hopefully explains why basements, when undertaken by specialists, are a good thing for increasing space in a City where other options are limited.
