The London Basement Company are one of the very few true ‘design & build’ companies. We recognise this is the only way in which we can condense the pre-contract design works, maintain tight contract programmes and ensure quality throughout every element of our works.
Planning & Initial Scheme Design...
Our design department consists of seven architectural staff all hand picked, most with extensive backgrounds in private practice. With unprecedented experience in all areas of basement design, both technical and planning, it comes as no surprise that The London Basement Company have been consulted by several London Boroughs when producing their own Basement Development Guidelines.
Once appointed we can offer a full design service, produce scheme design drawings, carry out any pre-application investigations such as tree reports, noise surveys and flood risk assessments and submit all the necessary planning applications on your behalf.
If required, we can arrange for a computer generated 3D virtual walk-through of the proposed basement space.
Detailed Design...
In addition to the initial scheme design, The London Basement Company are able to offer a detailed design service. We will undertake the structural design of the basement together with any associated upper floor works, discuss in detail your fitting-out requirements, identifying proposed floor and wall finishes, discuss plumbing, electrical, any audio visual requirements and identify any specialist joinery or decorative works. We will then produce comprehensive drawings that will be accurately priced and hopefully form the basis of the contract documents and the works on site.
Structural Shell & Waterproofing Design...
If you are considering the fitting out works as a separate package or perhaps you already have your own contractor carrying out other works in the property, we can offer a Structural Shell & Waterproofing only design. We will undertake, and take full responsibility, for the structural design, the waterproofing and drainage works and provide accurate costs for the basement shell. We will happily work with your architect or design team and pass on the benefit of our experience to ensure that the design is both practical and cost effective.
